We have received the following Airfest 2010 invitation from Bob O’Brien! Judy Mullen is coordinating the tickets (see bottom of this post for details.)

Dear Judy & “quilter” friends of RFD,
You made quite an impression on us this April as you flew to Paducah, Kentucky!! You proved to us that “where there is a will, there is a way“.

Now, we here at RFD would like to give back to you. Airfest, 2010 is just around the corner, Saturday, July 31 and Sunday, August 1, here at RFD. Many wonderful and exciting performers are planned including the USAF Thunderbirds as well as many static displays. We’d like to invite you and your families to Airfest for a special “perk”. If you have attended Airfest in the past, you’ve seen the white chalet tents along the flight line. It provides an unobstructed view of the entire performances plus unlimited access to the aircraft displays. You and your family/friends will have a front row seat to the airshow! You will also enjoy protection from the sun and weather. These chalets are rented by corporations for $4,500 on Saturday/ $3,500 on Sunday.

If you can pull together 150 people, quilters, their families and friends interested in this opportunity, in advance, I will accept your general admission ticket for access to this VIP restricted private viewing area. The cost is $15 per adult ticket, $5 for children (ages 5-12). A special wrist band will be given to you for access to this VIP area and chalet. Food and beverages are on your own or otherwise extra.

Ticket Info: This special offer is for Saturday, July 31st. If you are interested in attending, the airport has requested they know in advance how many tickets we will need ( # adults + # children). Please send me a check made out to AIRFEST, 2010 in the amount of those in your family attending, along with their names, before Friday, July 23. Your names will appear on a list at the WILL CALL entrance where you will receive your wristbands and enter through a different entrance with no waiting. The gates will open at 9 AM with the performances beginning at 11 AM. The gates will close at 5:30 PM.
