Home of the Brave
Margaret Steele is the chair of “Home of the Brave”, a program that gives special quilts to the families of our brave men and women soldiers who have died in Iraq or Afghanistan.
There are also related projects to supply pillowcases and Christmas stockings. Please see Margaret for details on how you can become involved in this heart-breaking and heart-warming activity.

A VERY SPECIAL “HOME OF THE BRAVE” PRESENTATION
On July 6, 2006, the Sinnissippi Quilt Guild celebrated the 4th of July with a special program. Sandy Carstenson, Iowa coordinator for the national “Home of the Brave” quilt program spoke to both sessions about how she got started with “Home of the Brave” and her other efforts to supply pillowcases and Christmas stockings to soldiers stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
As part of the program, this wonderful quilt was presented to Gayle Naschansky, mother of Lance Corporal Andrew Patton from Byron, IL who was killed in Iraq on December 1, 2005.
